Use the search and hashtag features to find/follow your interests. Discover TweetDeck, Plurk, and other clients to more effectively use Twitter while also taking care of your many other teaching tasks. With the advent of the cloud, sharing video online has grown exponentially. See how an Instructional Technology Department developed a program to bring digital video into the classroom. Allowing 21st Century students to enhance their skills, build relationships and collaborate for an authentic audience, the project culminated in a film festival as a celebration and showcase of student work.- Presenter: Angela Maiers

Today, literacy goes beyond the ability to read and write. Our students must be able to use web tools to find, analyze, organize, create, and share information. Teachers must know how to use web tools for their personal and professional development and how to implement selected tools to further learning in the classroom. What if students were not required to buy and read a textbook for class? Instead students would collaboratively research, author and publish a wiki-textbook. This session aims to: (1) describe the characteristics and rationale for using public web-based wiki tools for student research and writing (2) demonstrate instructional textbook assignments.
